Marin Architects introduces 130 East 177th Street, a 12-story, mixed-use residential structure located in the Mount Hope neighborhood of the Bronx. Standing at 123 feet tall, the building comprises 78 well-designed residences and features 55,987 square feet of space, with 52,597 square feet dedicated to residential living and 3,390 square feet for community facilities on the ground floor. The project, developed for the Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, is constructed by KSK Construction and set for completion in 2024.

130 East 177th Street is not just about apartments—it offers a lifestyle enhanced by modern amenities. Residents can enjoy a gym, library, office spaces, car parking, and three rooftop terraces that provide areas for recreation and relaxation. The design incorporates an “offset-stacking effect” on the façade, featuring a distinctive brick finish that creates a dynamic visual element. This modern design fits into the surrounding architectural styles, which range from classical to contemporary, while establishing a bold and sophisticated identity in the neighborhood.

A key challenge during the design process was maximizing interior apartment space while maintaining an aesthetically striking exterior. Marin Architects skillfully addressed this, ensuring both functionality and architectural elegance. The result is a building that not only serves its residents but also contributes to the architectural richness of the area.

While the building does not emphasize sustainability, its timeless design ensures long-term durability. The development highlights Marin Architects' innovative approach to residential design and their commitment to enhancing urban living in the Bronx. 130 East 177th Street is poised to become a landmark in Mount Hope, offering both residents and the broader community a blend of function and beauty that enhances the local skyline.
