The North Shore LIJ Health System includes 16 award-winning hospitals and nearly 400 physician practice locations throughout New York, including Long Island, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island. Marin was selected through an RFP to design and develop a 50,000 sq. ft. space for executive, and project management offices, and administrative and support spaces. The challenge was that the space selected was mostly below grade, which subsequently required a strategic and creative way to incorporate daylight into the design. Marin’s design needed to balance the client’s interest in having an open floor plan with a requirement to create privacy for the executives and clients that meet in the space.
