East Orange
Marin Architects created a conceptual design for this massive, 20-year vacant property in the City of East Orange in the hopes of transforming the structure into a mixed-use community. The project is a development that boasts access to the NJ Transit Midtown Direct train via the Brick Church Train Station with direct service to New York City’s Penn Station in less than 30 minutes.
Marin’s renderings illustrate an all-brick exterior and columns with enlarged windows. Marin had a vision of tradition, derivative of the neighborhood’s aesthetic. The mission was to blend this superstructure seamlessly and not for it to appear as an exclusion. Marin’s ultimate vision was nothing too steel-colored or modern, but something more warm and welcoming for train-goers and passersby.
