Megu – Trump World Tower

New York

Type Design / Renovation

Location New York, NY

Size 5,988 sq. ft.

Completion 2006

Two years after Megu’s Tribeca debut, Megu opened a second Manhattan location, discreetly ensconced on the ground floor of the Trump World Tower. The project scope was to design and build-out the open space, while working collaboratively with the Japanese designer to execute his vision.

Though smaller than its downtown counterpart, this location is similarly dramatic, with Swarovski black crystal chandeliers, an enormous tiger mural, and eight lampshade-shaped fixtures lit from within and embellished with the owner’s family crest.

Construction for this project required the installation of a restaurant kitchen, build-out of the restaurant on the ground and mezzanine levels, and installation of plumbing fixtures, handicap bathroom, ductwork, and sprinkler heads. In addition, a Public Assembly certification was required in compliance with the NYC Building Codes.
